On Thursday, October 31, 2019, Pee Dee Mental Health Center hosted a Falling Into Recovery dance. The prom-style event was hosted and coordinated by the Center’s Peer Support Services staff. Patients dressed in their finest eveningwear and enjoyed music, dancing, and great food.
In addition, BHDD Office of Mental Health Patient Affairs Coordinator Sierra Cunningham shared her recovery story, and SC SHARE Assistant Director Lloyd Hale delivered a keynote speech.
The festive and formal evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated, and was a lovely kick off to the 2019 holiday season.

Observed each May, Mental Health Awareness Month highlights the importance of understanding the connection between mental health and substance use, particularly for teens and young adults.
